Cleopatra, Hatshepsut, Nefertiti — the girls who ran the Nile and looked incredible doing it.

Ancient Egypt Babes

Ancient Egypt had babes. I mean it. Cleopatra, Hatshepsut, Nefertiti — these women ran empires, built temples, spoke a million languages, and looked incredible doing it. They were not side characters. They were the main event.

Cleopatra was a politician and a scholar and she knew how to make an entrance. Hatshepsut called herself king and built one of the coolest temples ever. Nefertiti changed art forever just by existing. These girls were not waiting around. They were making history.

I think about them when I am building girlweb. They built big public things in a world that wanted them small. That is basically what I am doing, except with more pink and more URLs. The internet needs more women building big public things too.

So yes — ancient Egypt had babes, and I am still inspired by them. Maybe one of them would have loved a search engine. Maybe Cleopatra would have had the best blog. We will never know, but we can keep the energy alive.

Lovable wrote this and I sort of agree with it. - Kelly
